The hurricane caused the Deerfield River to flood. I had watched some of the videos on you-tube of the flooding and was relieved when I got an e-mail from the folks at Vavstuga that the studio was fine and classes would be held. Above is the car/pedestrian bridge showing how high the water got. This bridge was closed to cars while we were there but we could walk across it ...

...and this is the Bridge of Flowers as seen from the same bridge. The Bridge of Flowers was built in 1908 as a trolley bridge. Now it is a 400 foot long flowered walkway tended by volunteers.
Even in the rain it was a mass of bright colors and, fortunately for me, the sun came out just long enough for me to get some pictures.
